Max Franke Hamburg

Tailor-made lighting solution from Alurays

Project report

Light that becomes part of architecture

Max Franke – a blue line of light as an architectural signature

At Max Franke's Hamburg headquarters, light competence combines with a distinctive nocturnal identity. The approximately 5,000-square-metre "Point of Light" at Osdorfer Landstraße combines lighting planning, product development, manufacturing, assembly, storage and shipping under one roof. For outdoor lighting, alurays developed a tailor-made blue LED line, delivered all components and took over the installation on the building. The approximately 68-meter-long light contour follows the different heights and direction changes of the dark facade. It summarizes the elongated building structure, highlights building edges precisely and sets an effective contrast to the warmly illuminated interiors. In the reflecting façade surfaces, the blue line multiplies and gains additional spatial depth. Thus, a widely visible, distinctive light signature was created, which stages the company's headquarters after darkfall and at the same time carries Max Franke's claim as Hamburg specialist for individual lighting solutions to the outside.
