Clearness before project start
Is a complete lamp replacement always necessary?
No. With suitable housings, retrofitting can be technically, economically and ecologically useful. In advance, condition, thermal boundary conditions, electrical safety, light quality and documentation requirements are tested.
Which rules apply to office lighting?
In particular, the workplace regulation and ASR A3.4 are relevant; DIN EN 12464-1:2021 is relevant for lighting planning. The concrete solution is based on visual task, space and hazard assessment.
What is required by the EU Buildings Directive?
The EPBD 2024/1275 must be implemented nationally. For certain non-residential buildings, it provides – as far as technically and economically feasible – for automatic, zoned lighting controls with presence recognition to staggered deadlines. The concrete obligation must be examined at the respective building and at the state of German implementation.
Are intelligent controls always useful?
Sensor technology can improve consumption and comfort if zones, use, daylight and operation are well planned. A system should remain data-saving, manageable and understandable in everyday life.
