Project
Klinikum Stuttgart Haus4 Bad Cannstatt
Tailor-made lighting solution from Alurays
Project report
Light that becomes part of architecture
In the building 6 of the Klinikum Stuttgart in Bad Cannstatt, Alurays realized the energetic renovation of the lighting. The aim of the project was to replace the existing conventional luminaires with modern, energy-efficient LED technology while maintaining the existing building structure to a large extent. More than 400 luminaires were planned and manufactured project-specifically – including linear recessed luminaires, wall luminaires and special suicidal-preventive designs for sensitive clinic areas. With a light colour of 4,000 Kelvin, the new lighting ensures a clear and uniform illumination of the patient's rooms, corridors, treatment rooms and lounges. Presence detectors and dimmable solutions complement the concept in selected areas. The lower connection performance reduces energy consumption and makes an important contribution to the sustainability goals of the hospital and the city of Stuttgart. The lighting and electrical planning was carried out by ZWP Ingenieur-AG. Alurays was responsible for the development and delivery of the appropriate LED luminaires and combined technical efficiency with the special requirements of a modern psychiatric clinic operation.
