Project report
Light that becomes part of architecture
At the GE site in Garching near Munich, the latest aircraft turbines are being developed. Here, on behalf of CBRE, alurays has extensively modernized interior and exterior lighting. The aim was to replace the existing conventional lighting with powerful LED technology and to use existing luminaires, mounting points and ceiling cut-outs as much as possible.
For offices, entrance areas, corridors, kitchens and other function rooms, alurays developed and manufactured custom-fit linear installation and pendant luminaires. Numerous luminaires were additionally equipped with presence and daylight sensors and integrated into an intelligent light control system. Thus, the required light is available according to requirements, while unnecessary operating times are reduced.
Existing bollard luminaires, façade spotlights and luminaires along the access routes were also converted to durable LED technology. The combination of efficient lighting, intelligent control and the preservation of existing components resulted in a sustainable overall solution. alurays took over the technical planning, development of the special luminaires, delivery, assembly, programming and commissioning.
